For the last seven years I’ve been an advocate for the environment working on a wide range of issues from improving vehicle fuel efficiency standards, stopping the superfluous use of antibiotics in livestock to protecting western Canada’s grizzly bears from over hunting and the threat of habitat loss. Prior to coming to work at American Rivers I spent three years as the Clean Water Network's Grassroots Campaigns Advocate and if may name sounds vaguely familiar to you its probably because you received some of the countless emails and action alerts I sent calling for your support on the pressing federal clean water policy of the day. I was at the center of CWN's efforts that led to the defeat two awful EPA policies that threatened our nation's waters: the passage of an appropriations amendment to thwart a proposed sewage dumping policy in 2005 and the passage of a similar spending amendment to kill the policy that severely limited the scope of the Clean Water Act in 2006.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to organize and build a successful campaign to protect our rivers and the people who enjoy and rely on them from harmful sewage pollution.
